This policy explains what personal data Kliply (the macOS app and kliplyapp.com) processes. The controller is Ilter Kalach, sole proprietor in the Netherlands. Contact: [email protected].

The app records on your Mac only

Kliply captures your screen, game audio, and — if you enable them — your microphone and voice-chat apps, into a temporary buffer in your Mac's memory. Clips are only written to disk when you save one (or an auto clip triggers), in a folder you choose. Recordings never leave your Mac. We have no servers that receive clips, no cloud storage, no analytics and no crash reporting.

To detect game moments, Kliply reads data the games expose locally for companion tools (Riot's Live Client Data API on 127.0.0.1, Valve's Game State Integration, and World of Warcraft's combat log file). This data is processed on your Mac and not sent anywhere.

License activation

When you enter a license key, Kliply sends the key and your Mac's name to our reseller's license server (Polar) to activate it, and re-checks it about every few days. This is necessary to provide the product you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). No other data is sent.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles payment, invoicing and VAT. Polar shares your name, email address, country and order details with us so we can provide support and licenses. See the Polar privacy policy.

This website

kliplyapp.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use cookies, trackers or analytics on this site. The checkout window is loaded from Polar only when you click "Buy".

Update check

Once a day the app downloads a small file from kliplyapp.com (version.json) to see if a newer version exists. The request contains only the app's version number; like any visit, Cloudflare sees your IP address to deliver it. Nothing is stored.

Download counts

When the app is downloaded from kliplyapp.com, we add one to a daily counter per file. Nothing else is stored — no IP address, device or cookie.

Reviews

If you post a review, we store the name you enter (optional), your rating, your text and the date, and show it on the site after checking it for spam. To limit spam we also keep a salted, one-way hash of your IP address for 7 days; it can't be turned back into your IP address. This is based on our legitimate interest in a spam-free review section (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Email us to have your review removed.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you and keep it as long as needed for support and legal obligations.

Retention

Order and license records are kept for 7 years because Dutch tax law requires it. Support emails are deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG) you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Email [email protected]. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
